Newest Heave Chief, HC1100 successfully tested

The newest and largest Heave Chief (the HC1100) is ready to start operations on Vineyard Wind, after its successful site acceptance tests last week. The tool was fully load tested (at 1210 mT load) and we executed extensive functional testing such as the numerous full load and full speed fast lifts. That means lifting at 70cm/s to ensure no-rehit with a heaving deck, the weight of full WTG components. And it can do this again, and again, and again, all on a single battery charge. Additionally we tested active follow-mode, were the motions of any target can be followed of the full 3,5m stroke, with any load up to a 1000mT

These were the last checks needed for operational DNV certification. We are ready to get going on Vineyard wind as of this summer.

In the same week, we also completed successful load & functional testing for the upgraded HC750, which will be working on another WTG installation project in the 2nd half of this year.
